Case Fan using A 4-3 Pin Adapter Quick ?

System fan has failed. Service Immediately...

^^ Lies =-P

I wanted to hook up one of the fans on the Antec 902 to my MOBO to silence this error, but the Antec 902 only has 4-pin power connections.

This may seem stupid but I do not know which cable to get. I am probably just over thinking it.

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/91...Connector.html

If 2nd option can someone please explain that. // Not all 4-Pin fans can be used on all controllers, check max amp draw before plugging in your fan! //

Thank you in advance for any answer(s) or help.

If you go into the monitoring tab (not sure what it is called on MSI boards), you should be able to disable the fan warning/monitoring. Easier and cheaper than going the route you wanted.

systems specs were outdated sorry. Just finished updating them. Downgraded =-(

Also I looked in the BIOS on my current board but could not find anything that looked like it would disable the message.

You almost have the same motherboard that I have in my server. Find the monitoring section where it lists out temperatures and fan speed. Hit enter on the CPU fan speed (should be 0) and select "ignore". Every Asus board that I've owned (a LOT) have had that option.

No luck. My board is one taken from my old stock HP setup. Not sure if that makes a difference.

If there is no option for it, is it that big of a deal really? If it is shutting down the system, I could understand; but if it is just pausing during the POST process, it isn't worth it.

Both of those will not work, they are only power cables. What fan do you have? Does it have a "third cable" (RPM monitoring)?

If it only has two cables, the motherboard can't detect the RPM of the fan.

The first one should work. He basically needs a 4 pin to 3 pin converter so that he can plug in the fan to the mobo instead of the psu.

Except you are completely missing the point, there is no RPM fan cable. So even if he got the first one and plugged it in, the motherboard will still report the fan is not spinning. Neither of the cables he linked will work.
