This what you looking for?

I know the Falcon isn't on the list, but there is the MLC & Titan that should give you a rough idea.

Not sure if the listing for "ocz mlc" = ocz falcon, keep hearin its about the same as a vertex ex with the vertex ex having a higher clocked dram or some bs like that. Looks like a good price vs. performance ratio according to newegg reviews, but idk if i really trust newegg reviews, also saw the newer intel ssd(s) which are basically the same as they were but cheaper like 80gb for $230USD. This ocz falcon was like $205 for a 60gb. What to do, what to do...? Does intel ssd(s) or ocz falcon drives support trim? I know the vertex and vertex ex series does. Plan on matrix raid 0 with a pair, maybe three if I'm that insane.

Remember that the FAlcon is G.Skill, not OCZ =P

The vertex EX is an overclocked vertex...
I would get a vertex or intel drive, as both of them have good reputation for SSD's, the intel ones may be a bit more optimised for OS's, which is what I heard from reviews of the X-25M and extreme, and the new 34nm ones are cheaper and faster

I'm a little unsure what that means, Are the other SSD designed for raid arrays more so than single OS?

Interesting information!

i wouldnt go and say optimized for os's. the problem of past ssd's has been the low write speeds of small size files. which the os can do alot of, you dont notice is on rotating drives as windows has tricks to not slow down the drive. using raid would help with small writes on older drives. the new drives from ocz have different controllers and larger cache for this reason. small write speed has gone up and with the new controller/larger cache. the controller will now store a number of small writes to make it a larger write. that is the way i recall it being explained over at the ocz forums... has been a while since have been watching computer hw.

The EX is SLC vs regular Vertex which uses MLC. I don't 100% know if the Indilinx is overclocked, I know the Vertex Turbo has overclocked Indilinx and faster MLC NAND than Vertex.

dont forget to consider the OCZ summit drive, imo for the money it is the way to go. about to get one my self but have also been eyeing the ocz agility line as well.

The only things that puts a negative view of the Summit to me are the low 4k random IOPS and the lack of end-user firmware upgrade ability.

While the drive does not stutter, that does not mean that it is as fast as the Indilinx-based SSD's in user "feel" either. It looks to have even lower IOPS than my JMicron-based Kingston V series SSD, when tested using IOMeter and the same tests. It has the same 4k IOPS performance as the JM602B without the tweaked firmware.

I just ordered a Supertalent ME 64GB, it was a shellshocker at Newegg for a very good price. Even now at $159 CAN, it's still much cheaper than the Agility ($50 roughly) and the Crucial CT64M225 is also considerably cheaper as well ($165) though out of stock.

overclocked controller + faster nand (180mhz vs 166) on the turbo

I'd probably recommend a Vertex (Not the Vertex EX it is SLC and major $$$) after researching them, I know the turbo series is out now but it costs more. There are some great cash back deals going on so you can pick up say 120GB Vertex for pretty cheap now ($290ish). I'll have one here soon come Monday and post up some benchmarks.

when looking into the other OCZ ssd's i came across this
http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...1&limitstart=1
it looks like i should pass on the summit drive and get the agility line since it uses a Indilinx vs the summits samsung controller.

vertex
http://www.guru3d.com/article/ocz-ve...gb-ssd-review/
falcon
http://www.guru3d.com/article/gskill...gb-ssd-review/

both drives use the same hardware (controller).

i have a 30g vertex in the game machine, but it's not big enough. it's gonna get moved to my laptop before long, i'm actually thinking about getting a bigger falcon, they are cheaper and in real-world proformance, it's identical to the vertex.

you could RAID another Vertex, though for almost the same money up here, the Supertalent 64GB ME would be a good buy. The Crucial M225 is also one of the cheaper indilinx SSD's.
