LGA1366 Screw hole layout

Okay so it's been awhile since i came here.

I know 1366 is replacing the current 775 socket. Are the screw holes similar if not that same?

If there is not does anyone know of any mounting brackets that might mod it?

I bought a phase unit awhile back from extremesystems and it is currently affixed with a bracket for the 775. I personally don't want to go through the hassle of changing it or redrilling holes in it(as i think it's just a piece of wood/plastic) so it will fit.

Are most things compatible between these 2 or will i be looking at a retrofit?

Thanks,

I will probably buy once 1366 is mainstream so i can just get something good for D3/SC2/FFXIV

I assume you mean socket 775.

I think some of the Asus X58 boards (P6T) have mounting holes for both 775 and 1366. Look into something like that.

I also guess you mean 775.

No they dont fit one with each other. But jason is right.

Some block or heatsink come with both or your have the choice.

yes i did mean 775... haha. thanks. I keep remembering my old sempron whoops! i'll edit that due to embarassment.

AHHHH

Excellent that mobo not only shows me the hole difference but also an option to redrilling old holes(since it shows me the difference in space..

Thanks a lot

Oh the wider ones are the 1366 while the shallower ones are 775 correct? Hmmm.. i might be able to manage redrilling holes in the metal plates on my phase then... maybe.

The plate is leaning against the unit, i don't know how much space i have, probably enough.

Yes, the 1366 holes are spaced farther apart than the 775 holes.

Can't wait to see what she can do and how cold you can keep her!
