Just signed up for SETI. Did F@H a few years back, but decided to give this a try. System is nothing fancy(AMD PII and a 9600GT) and I'm still on my first WU, but every little bit helps. Hopefully I'll be able to build a REAL system and not use my HTPC.

And yes, Every little bit counts!

Between the Phenom and the 9600GT you should get a fair amount of credit.
And with the cost of GTX Series GPU's coming down tremendously, You might be able to upgrade if you have the cash.

I plan on following my friends build. Quad GTX

Then a few servers. One for SSH that I might pop the 9600 into and upgrade the HTPC. But it will have to wait until I have disposable income.

Wow, Quad GTX is WAYYYY Out of my budget.

I'm thinking of putting a single GTX260 in addition to my 9800GT in my Desktop, but other than that I'm not sure if I can stomach anything else

I may have an Opteron 180 running in a few days though

Just add the cards one at a time.

I was trying to. But have no clue WTF I'm doing. I was looking for where the data file but couldn't find it.

Lunatics has an auto-installer program now (they call it a "Unified Installer") - which I haven't used yet but many of the guys have. Give it a try and see if that helps ...

Update: The app that QuietIce linked to is working quite well. Also redid my network(albeit small) but it looks pretty. Even modded my DVD case to hold my router and modem. But all in all things are working smoothly. PC is running 85% of the time and I'm starting to see some credits finally!
