Just wondering how well you can play Crysis Warhead with them?

I am receiving my GTX275 this week (crosses fingers) - and I have a Q6600/4GRam.

What settings can I get away with for a 30-35fps average? Resolution is 1280x720, or turn down a few sliders for 1900x1200. I guess I'll try both :D

Thanks!

I don't know if this counts but i tried the original crysis demo on my 260 -216 and it ran ok. 1280x720 is pretty low res so i think you should be good to go since 30fps is good enough for you.

I play at that exact rez 1280x720 and when I GPU benchmark I am at 52 FPS average on High. Very high its mid 40's ave. Look in sig for overclocking specs.

Oh and Warhead is easier on computers.

With a GTX 280, at 1920x1200, the whole game was playable maxed with no AA. Not great frames, but never was I tempted to turn things down.

With my 275 at 1680 x1080 I get around 40 fps with my overclocked video card. Dips as low as 29-30 sometimes though, but still playable. This is with settings on high and no AA.

i was fine playing crysis warhead @ 1680x1050 on my old G80 8800gts 640mb medium / high settings.... on my gtx260 im sure it would be damn nice and smooth although never tried.

wow that is the uber awsome l33t gamer high roller set up you have with the GPU and CPU ;)

sorry though i do not have this game

VVVVVVVVVVVVV

Don't care about Crysis, it is a damn **** engine... as Crysis gives you 30 fps the rest of the games will give you firm 60 fps wich is the limit that the eye can see.
GG!

I have a HD4850 and I can play DX10 gamer resolution. 1280x1040

I'm sure your nvidia one will be much better.

He was talking about Crysis and what it could do. No need to come in here and say crap about it.

I agree. Crisis was fine on MY 8800GTS 640... and that was with an E6400.

I would imagine my current setup (or your soon to arrive setup) would kill it.

Keep in mind though that your system specs have precious little to do with how Crisis will perform. As someone else pointed out, the engine was poorly coded. (All that crap about being "the most advanced engine" was just marketing hype. You don't see anybody using that engine today, and Crytek themselves have moved on to the Cryengine 2.)

If you want to find something to gauge your actual hardware's performance with an enginr optimized to scale with hardware, then you can try almost any other game (a lot of people use Supreme Commander and SFIV for a newer one.)

But to answer your question: A Q6600 with a 260 should run the game... well... not as well as it should... but you'll definitely get more than 30fps.

Crysis is a failure engine, people try to get 60 fps even with 2 gtx285

Thats your opinion but no need to discuss it in this thread.

To the OP, never did give an example of my performance which is between 30-40FPS sometimes more depending on the level with DX10, most things on high to ultra high. 1920x1200 res. I was able to play this game nicely on 2x 4850's with similar to little better results than my GTX 285.

25 to 35 fps here on single gtx260, so if you overclock a little your gtx275 it should run great

(1920*1080 all settings to ultra no AA 16x AF)

same settings though in sli kill this game at this res (even managing to play it ith 4x AA)

Well.. to put it in perspective, I just ran crysis warhead (haven't got original crysis installed, but I can if you care for my unhelpful results :p )..

All settings to "Gamer" (equivalent to normal Crysis' "High"?), except sound on "Enthusiast" (Figure I may as well put my X-Fi XtremeMusic + Z-5500s to use :p )
1920*1080, no AA/AF
CPU: 3000+ single core AMD A64 (OC'd to 2.21ghz), 2GB DDR1, GTX260 @ 700/1480/1100

Gets around 22-27fps just running around, and drops to ~15-18 under open areas/fights... overall, given how limited I am by my CPU, I think it runs quite well XD It'll run like a champ on your setup, though. Also, it looks sexy as on a 46" 1080p lcd tv :santa: (forgive the fail phonecam pic)
