What do you consider high cfm? 70-90? 100? 150+? Anything 100+ you can forget led's. Anything 150+ you can forget about quiet...think vaccuum cleaner...for 120mm that is.
Lol, I used to have a 120CFM 92mm Sunon..... I don't think you can even buy them anymore. Everythings gone to 120mm. The 92mm fans were better for heatsinks though as they offered a higher static air pressure..... Excellent for heatsinks with tighly packed fins....
A fan on a heatsink thats high CFM can still be pretty ordinary for cooling if it doesn't have sufficient air pressure to push it through the fins. The use of heatpipes in modern heatinks and thinner fins have elleviated this problem somwehat these days but it CAN still be an issue with top down coolers.
