Hi guys, I am using EP45-UD3P motherboard and Crucial Ballistix PC 6400 2GB x2 Rams.

I bought a Cooler master Hyper TX 3 recently to replace my stock cpu cooler and I tried overclocking my E8500 [C0] Cpu to run at 3.8Ghz but faced high temperatures problem!

Basically I didnt fiddle too much with the bios settings, even kept Vcore at default and simply increased FSB from 333mhz to 400mhz. My idle temperatures are around 49 - 52 C and loaded with prime95 around 66 - 67C. I have got totally no idea why is it so high.. I checked the placing of the cooler and reapplied enough thermal paste already.. please advise! Below are my bios settings:

The tempos are a bit high but not too bad, what is your ambient temperature? Also what is the VID of your CPU?

P.S: I cant embed the picture until i made 15 posts ;/

The picture shows some of my settings and the temp at idle..

Before I changed the cooler, I was hovering around 70C under load with E8500 @ 3.16ghz stock fan, defaults settings..

This is weird..

That's a 7C variation betwixt CORES.
I'd recheck my mounting and thermal compound application again.
44C/CORE is about average for an idle temp for a C0.
Upper 60s is about par for load temps, if the cooler is up to it.

What's your ambient temperature when you get those readings? Is it possible for you to post a picture of your PC open case?

I suspect either you have poor air flow in your case or your room temperature is way too hot. 48C system, 50c/43c/47c HD idle temperature is very high. When my room temperature reach 90F, that's what I get for my setup...
