Burn an ISO to a virtual CD

What I'm trying to do is create a windows 7 System Repair Disk. Note, this is not a System image. The problem is that I have a netbook with no disk drive. Is there a way to use Daemon tools or a similar program to trick windows into thinking there is a blank cd in the drive? Any solutions would be helpfull.

yeah if you download power iso
then set create a virtual drive

there is then an empty cd drive shown in MY COMPUTER
you can then right click on ANY iso, click power iso, click ',mount to drive X ( x being the virtual drive you jsut created

magic disk is another 1

So he could have a windows 7 system repair disk...

@ antipesto, he needs to set up a virtual CD writer not just mount an ISO in a virtual CD drive.

You answered the question yourself. You can just use Daemon Tools to create a virtual drive and mount the iso onto it.

....So in other words.

You need to basicly mount, an ISO of a blank CD. So you can use burning software to burn to it?

Otherwise...
PowerISO allows you to create ISO images....

PowerISO is shareware. Use ISODisk. It's free and good

Nero can do that for ya. Otherwise there are many programs that can do that. Although I would like to know what you want that for.

I think I understand the problem... so you have a utility that will create a repair disk, but it doesn't have an option to directly create an ISO, only burning straight to a disk. And what you want to do is trick it into creating an ISO by way of a virtual CD burner... am I correct in my interpretation?

Unfortunately I don't know of any freeware programs that can do such a thing... it's possible one exists, but I so far have been unable to find it if it does. There are plenty of shareware ones out there, but they cost about as much as an external USB DVD drive.

Hook the netbook into your network, and then share or map a DVD drive from another PC.

I've used this method to read optical discs, but never to write...it might work, though.
