how do I fully uninstall 186 drivers and install 180 drivers? I've heard just uninstalling isn't enough

You could try Driver Sweeper after uninstalling - it should get rid of basically every trace of the drivers. The instructions on how to use it should be explained step-by-step when running the program itself.. though, it has been a long time since I've used it.. but either way, I don't remember it being too complicated to use.

Driver Sweeper is the easiest way to ensure you get rid of every last trace of the old drivers. It's fairly simple and straight forward, just boot into safe mode, open Driver Sweeper, select the driver type you want to look for (nVidia Display), it will bring up all traces, click remove (it'll take a couple seconds), reboot, enter windows and install 180 drivers... then you're good to go

ahh welcome to the club

its a crappy club. 185 was good for me

also under C there is nvidia folder look in there for the drivers
driver sweep missed some for me

some say you dont need driver sweep but if you are having the problems i was then id rather be safe than deal with it and second guess it
