GPU Upgrade

Presently using an 8800gtx and its time for an upgrade. All specs in my sig are current. Im considering a gtx260 or 275. Done some reading in the forums and theres a slight edge towards the 260's for now. Is this still the case?

Also is there any major difference in the 896 MB versions vs the 1792 MB versions other than the obvious ram difference?

Also open to any other video card suggestions under 300.00

If you're not bent on nVidia, I'd have to suggest ATI's HD5850 ($260). It blows everything in that price range away.

The 896MB on GTXs should be plenty. Is your 22" LCD 1680x1050?

I'm still rockin the 8800GTX as well

Yeah if you are going to buy today, 5850 is the way to go. If you can hold off a month or two, Nvidia's new stuff is coming out too.

ok now I have a choice... a proposition was thrown at me: GTX280 for 175.00 and my 8800 or a GTX275 FTW Edition for 190.00 and i keep my card.

Im thinking a 'no brainer' on the 275

Yeah. You can probably get $50-75 for the 8800GTX, and the 275 performs close enough to a 280 not to matter.
