Barebones setup help

I recently purchased a barbones system and needed some help in setting up the system. Can anyone point me out to a step-by-step or tutorial on adding the rest of my components and setting up my new OS.

thanks in advance

FLounder, that's a great site. It's so good, it should be put in as a link for our newbies.
