Hi all,

Finally i'm ready to install my watercooling.
But i was wondering how tight should i tighten it?
There are 2 parts the 1/4 screw and the "nut" see link:

So how tight for the 1/4 screw and how tight for the "nut"? where i need to slide it over the tubing.
Should i tightening it by hand until i cant go any more by using a fair amount of force (really locked) or is this a no no?

In short
A-the 1/4 screw
B-the nut

Please help...

Thanks in advance

By hand till you can't do it any more. But don't break a finger. Tight, you don't need pliers unless your a 12 year old, then your hands probably ain't strong enough.

The part on the block needs to make contact on the oring and then another 1/2 turn max or so.

You still need to leak test and watch closely. Looks like you could use a primer............ take a look:

Thank you for your reply,

Regarding the tightening the compression fitting go until you cant go any further got it.

I did read the link you provided me. And found it informative especialy the cleaning of the rad, buy the way should i boil destilled water and then use it for rad cleaning or should i use regular tap water and boil it then use it for the rad cleaning? Also some people there use teflon tape or silicon sealant arround the threads is this necessary?

thanks in advance

Tap water is just fine, final rinse with distilled.

NO No teflon tape or silicon. Thats for NPT metal to metal etc. Your barbs have o-rings. More than enough.

Thanks for your help,

I had the idea that you need to use teflon, but thats only for threads without an O-ring, thanks for clearing that up otherwise i would have messed things up.
Next weekend il start assembling my water rig. I'm really curious of the end result. Il post some pictures of my wc setup the wc should look wonderfull with the Lian Li Tyr pc-x500 case.
