USB 3.0 Flashdrives coming!

Quote:
The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface supports transfer speeds up to ten times faster than regular USB 2.0. Although it has a theoretical throughput of 5 Gbps, USB 3.0 still uses 8b10 encoding. That overhead means that real world applications will top out at around 400 MB/s, still much faster than the typical 35-40 MB/s with USB 2.0.

<3 new interfaces

(They didn't give prices, but expect it to be as much as an SSD probably =D)

Mobo's with USB 3.0 | SATA 6.0Gbps are coming out soon.

Ya know I don't see why if they are going to make some 3.0 why not just make them all... it is backwards compatible isn't it? do they really increase the cost that much?

new interfaces always start out $$ then get a bit cheaper over time.. they have to make there money some how for the R/D for the new interface.

200-320 MB/s on that usb stick.. It will cost 4-5 times what current SSDs cost and make an awesome boot drive
