Currently I'm living with somewhat limited cooling. I have an i7 860 that I'd like to run with a BCLK of 167 (to get my memory to run DDR3-2000, which it is designed to do) but a CPU multiplier of 17x, so the nominal rate will be 2833MHz - I'd like the CPU to run cool normally.
I want to push one core to its max on Turbo Boost, which should be 22x167=3667MHz, so I can test the cooling. At the moment, Prime95 - even with affiliation set to one or two "cores" (it shows 8) - will not push the CPU beyond nominal + 1, which would make sense if all four cores were pushed.
So, is there a test app that will push a single core to its max?
