2X4 pin power suply

Hi there I have a Gigabyte MA785GPM-UD2H mainboard. It has a 2X4 8 pin socket on it. The thing is the power supply I am going to use has 2X 2X2 4pin connectorsthat is 2X4 pins.
One has the exact shape to go in, the other has all slightly rounded edges but it the socket has two square holes. It fits but is this okay to use?
