Just curious,.. is there any value in burning in a new system build ?
I recall just a few years ago it was still a good idea to burn one in a few days .. not essential of course, but didn't hurt, and could provide some longer term stability according to some. Not 100% proven though.
These days is there any reason to turn on a fresh build with all new components and just let it run for a while,.. perhaps run some programs to put some stress on it?
To be specific, I personally built an Intel i5 2.66ghz Quadcore, on a P55-UD4P Gigabyte MB, with OCZ 1600 DDR3 Dual channel ram, ATI Radeon 5850 HD, Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB, 700Watt PSU etc etc.. Right now I haven't gotten to installing the OS because the Optical drive won't arrive till tomorrow,.. but do have it powered on just to test and this question popped in my mind.
Thanks,
