So I tried AMD OverDrive (failed to start)

And I tried Clockgen and it wont allow me to edit anything... Just shows the clocks and no options... I also tried to edit BIOS but it just shows it all but you cant scroll on it its all greyed out...

Is it because the laptop isn't very high spec that I cant overclock it?

Help would be great :)
:salute:

I haven't heard of many laptops with overclocking capability, probably due to the cooling requirements overclocking imposes, and battery life. Per the system requirements, AMD overdrive requires a compatible AMD chipset motherboard:
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_overdrive.aspx
AMD OverDrive™ utility is compatible with the following operating systems:
Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit)
Windows Vista (32 or 64bit)
Windows XP (32 or 64bit)
AMD CPU and a compatible AMD Chipset motherboard are required for installing and using AMD OverDrive™ utility.
AMD OverDrive™ utility supports the following chipset models:
AMD 790FX
AMD 790GX
AMD 790X
AMD 785G
AMD 780G
AMD 770

As far as I know, those chipsets are only found in desktop motherboards.

Laptops dont overclock, there is a reason for that. Heat dissapation, or better, lack thereof. You can try by suing a program called SetFSB or Clockgen, but again, its not reccomended to do so.

If you want to overclock, get a desktop and a board that actually supports it. :)

As usual I have to tell someone why its bad to OC a laptop:

Please don't, they are not in any way shape or form capable of handling the added heat you are going to put on it.
