remote invitation / software

my daughter has a laptop and i didnt have a chance to go through it an clean it up before she left .. things id like to be able to accomplish remotely would be

1. able to uninstall/install programs
2. run windows update
3. uninstall/install drivers

she's a beginner with computers so its kinda hard to get things done over the phone/messenger in a timely fashion .. although i really want to walk her through these things for experience over time .. id like to just be able to jump on and clean it up a bit .. we spent about 30 minutes getting yahoo messenger installed last night .. and by the time it was done she had enough ..

basically would like to have complete control over her laptop as if it were in front of me if possible ..

her laptop has vista home premium i believe (or ultimate cant remember) and im running windows 7 ultimate

also if there is anything she needs to install on her computer i will need a very easy solution to be able to send her files from my pc .. i know firefox has ftp but ive never used it and dont know if there is anything simpler to use ..

dont know if its this easy but would like a small program and just to be able to enter out ip's to be able to share ( feel like a tool for not ever having experience with this)

thanks for reading and your help

Remote desktop from Windows itself?
If not I'm pretty happy with TeamViewer. Ultra VNC is another good one.

No problems man, it's real easy. I use Teamviewer, it should be installed on both computers and then your daughter should only launch it and tell you an ID generated by Teamviewer. Then you enter that ID in your Teamviewer and that's it, you're connected with her.

This is how it looks

She must tell you what she see in left box and you must enter data in right box.

Sorry man, I dunno what problems you have but TeamViewer is free for personal use and I used it for long sessions not only for a minute.

I use Log Me In all the time to connect home from work and remote control my server. I also have my GF and another friend's computers with it in case they're having problems. I've also used it to remove viruses for other friends and such.

The way the free version works is you create the logmein account, then share the login id (email) and password with your daughter, she logs in and adds her computer to the account. Then you login anytime to the account and connect to the computer she added. All free. Been using it for years. If you want to add more computers you'll need to share that login id and password with those people. It's the one drawback but once they do it, I just set the password to something else.
