Hi gang,am wondering about the bottleneck with my Q6600 @3.2 if an upgrade in vid card would not be over kill?
If so,any thought on what would be a good upgrade?

thanks:)

^^ This.

But it depends more so on the res you play at. I wouldnt get the 5870 if your res is under 1920x1080...the higher the res, the more your GPU will help out.

I would go 5850 or 4890 or GTX275 with the 5850 as my first choice. The 5770 is as fast as a GTX260 216, which is fine at that res, but the other cards are faster and will have a bit more futureproofing.

Of course, the 5850 is the only one that'll be faster than a GX2, and only marginally. Maybe not at all, at such a low resolution.

9800 GX2 is around the performance of a 4890, and the 5850 is faster than that, so it's an upgrade for sure. However, at low resolutions, you're right, the difference may not be seen at all

Ok I upgraded to an i7 860 and an EVGA P55 LE,still haven't got the new card yet or a new monitor, but I will be soon:))
