Need some advice for a new system build. I'm upgrading finally after a long time. So I'm trying to pick out the parts from the website. I want to try to keep the price at $800-850 without a case(gonna buy one locally to save on shipping). I'll want to overclock the cpu on air but I'm not a huge enthusiast, just wanna get a bit of extra performance out of it. I've heard it's not too hard to get 3.6ghz on air for the lynnfield.

Btw, in canada we have newegg.ca not newegg.com so beware of the price differences.

Here's what I got so far:

Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80605I5750 - Retail - $219.99 (dead set on this processor)

GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3 LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail - $149.99 (not too sure about this, read good things about gigabyte for corei5 and oc'ing)

Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - $74.99 (this will be the main drive, I already have a 1TB for storage)

XFX HD-485X-ZDFC Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Retail - $131.49 (I really wanted the 4890 as it can be had for only $70 more, but that means more $$$ for PSU also.)

Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Retail - $69.99 (seems like a good deal, enough juice for a 4850 right?)

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH - Retail
- $104.99 (seen other people recommend this kit. is this good for oc'ing?)

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler - Retail - $39.99

TOTAL before tax/shipping: $791.43

Btw, I found the lynnfield for $199.99 at tigerdirect.ca. They have some good prices but I figure you guys are probably more familiar with newegg.

Thanks in advance.

I like it. The 4850 might be a little weak if you're planning in running some of the newer games this year. Otherwise, everything is great.

thanks guys. I'm gonna go with the 5770. The powercolor one at newegg is only $169.99 - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131327&cm_re=5770-_-14-131-327-_-Product

The HIS version is $173. - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161310&cm_re=5770-_-14-161-310-_-Product

Not sure which to get.

Not sure about the mobo either. someone said to get the ud3p or ud3r as it's better.\

Also, I'm looking at the corsair 450vx for a PSU. Not sure if this will be enough for my system since I plan on having either 2 or 3 hard drives in this rig. I don't wanna cheap out on the PSU but also don't want to overkill and spend more than I have to since I've already gone a little over my budget.

Oh and on the video card, I'd do a EVGA or XFX only, and only with life time warranty on the video cards.
