Running VLC in second monitor while gaming


I cannot get VLC to run in a second monitor while im gaming the only program i can get too achieve this is media player and i hate that program... anyone know how too make it so the screen doesnt go black when you start a game ?

In preferences/video, play with the output selection. Probably want OpenGL, since I assume default defaults to DX, which shuts itself down when you launch a full-screen game.

Don't recall if DX allows two windowed applications to run, however - try that as well.
