how do i overclock my cpu


i went into bios and upped my voltage to 1.0 on the cpu, but whe i went to what it was running at it still said 3.07ghz. i have an intel i7 950

Changing voltage won't do much at all - at least if that's all you change. It changes for speed-step, but voltage is all that changes when you manually increase voltage. What motherboard do you have? If you search with that model number or the chipset number, you'll probably find a complete guide for it.

Bigd? There is a TON to overclocking. Many many guides out there. You need to learn to monitor temps and how to load your processor for stress tests before you begin to overclock. Then a few weeks or reading and beginning to learn how to overclock and you'll be set!
