bad company 2 CTD help

I cant even launch bad company 2. Ive tried launching through steam, and putting a shortcut to desktop and running as admin but I still cant launch the game. I downloaded the game off steam. It shows a black screen with beta in the top right hand corner then CTD's... any tips or tricks to getting this thing to run? Im running windows 7 64 bit with the rig in my sig... anybody else can put their issues in this thread too.

i got it to work, but only if i go through the actual bc2 application.. if i launch through steam it crashes...

Same here. Tried launching through steam, get a black screen then it crashes. Also running 7 x64 on the q9550 system in sig. Any one else get a similar problem?
