I need the help of the Guru's please. I plan on building this computer as soon as I can have someone check this out as I have little experience in building. this will be my first complete build from scratch. I plan on using this for gaming and media. I am not sure if the parts are all compatible I checked everything I could from end with my little knowledge. Please review this and tell me if there are any parts that won't work or if they need changed. As I know you guys keep up with the latest ideas.
Anyone know of any better deals or compatibilty issues please let me know.

Optical drive.
This is a good one.

I would get this HSF. Its new but you can put 2 120 fans on it. I'm going get one of these soon.

I would get this PSU.

:welcome: Overall a very nice system you are putting together, The one glaring thing that jumps out at me is the power supply, First, You really don't need 800 watts, Next, I would avoid Kingwin PSU's. I know you likely have a blue led theme going with your rig, Just don't worry about it with the PSU, Your spending alot of money on parts and I would get a PSU that is less about bling and more about quality. I would look at Corsair or Seasonic PSU's in the 550-650 watt range. (you really likely don't need that much, However it gives you some headroom for future upgrades).

Thanks for the quick responses, ok how about this for the PSU,

just wish it was modular.
Anyone else see any conflicts on the hardware at all?
I can't believe I got all the correct components are there any conflicts like the motherboard and chipset not playing nice?
Has anyone used any of these parts are they good?

And yes the blue was a theme but only after I realized that like 3-4 of the parts and the chassis had Blue in them already, heck the case has 1x230mm blue LED fan on the top, 1x230mm blue LED fan on the side, 2x140mm blue LED fans in the front.

Looking for a lot of input I don't want to make a mistake on my first build.
What else do I need ? Example : extra cables, ties, shrinkwrap ?
I plan on making a video log of this build and giving credit to the Oc community for helping me , will post video logs on youtube I think.
I want this thing to last more than 7 years like my Alienware did.
So all the help I can get I will take ,I am going to let this run for a week then I plan to order it all at once.

also you dont need the 965BE when the 955BE will overclock just as well..the new psu is ok, but i'd go with what jgv115 posted for the corsair psu.. solid performance out of those units.

maybe get more than 1 hard drive or source one out from an existing system? makes for cleaner hard drives if you can keep your operating system off the disk that will have all of the apps etc.. so like use that 1TB for storage/apps/games and get a small one, like 80gb or so for your OS and major games you play most often.. depending on your budget, there are some kingston 65gb? SSD drives for like 200ish range.. well worth it!

Thanks for all the input guys I am trying to assemble this with the smallest headache possible, I posted links because I though it would be easier to click the link and look at the specifications on the said items.

This case has tons of places to snake and hide cables and I wanted a clean as possible build.

Few questions :
Does anyone know of a good model of Corsair that is modular?
Is the memory sufficent to play games like Everquest 2 or Crysis and run the OS without hitting any bottlenecks?
Did I get the correct OS?

Thanks for the input on the additional hard drive, forgot putting the OS on a seperate drive would help, so where should the page file be on the smaller drive or the bigger one?

Again thanks for all the help guys.

Your OS is fine.

The Corsair HX series is modular, as is the Seasonic X series and M series (I think).

Your hard drive setup is not optimal.

First off scratch the 80gb IDE drive that drive is slower then the "storage drive" you linked. There is no reason to waste your money on this drive.

An alternative to the 1TB WD Black you linked is the 1TB Samsung F3. Both drives are great but each is slightly better in certain aspects so it's best to find the drive that suits your needs better.

The Samsung F3 is cheaper, cooler, draws less power, has less moving parts, is quieter, and is faster when dealing with large files.

The WD Black has been around longer, has a longer warranty (5 yrs vs 3), and is faster at IO (smaller files)

Both are great drives and would suit you well, just do yourself a favor and drop the 80gb IDE drive.

Edit: Also I agree with the HX-650 PSU for your system

Ok dropped the smaller drive and added the PSU anything else that looks messed up or won't work together?
Looks like 1600 total is that about right for a good gaming rig setup?
What kind of performance can I expect from this thing?

Wow that was an oversight, thanks..added it to the list.
Anyone see anything else I may run into any problems with?
Are the cords and attachments going to be long enough?
Anthing I am still missing?
