GPU Question

I figured you guys might have pulled a few HSF's off your GPUs so maybe someone can shed some light.

I have an 8800Ultra.
Card has been running pretty warm so I decided to take off the HSF to replace the TIM. Pulled off the HSF and the TIM is pretty crusty. Now the Thermal pads look decent but quite a few fell off.
I cleaned all the TIM and Thermal Tape off and put the HSF back on to see if there is a gap between the HSF and VRM's.
Doesnt look like much if any gap at all.

So I used som IC7 for everything. Its non conductive and pretty thick.
So far the GPU is working fine and temps are a bit lower.

Should I eventually use thermal tape on the VRMs instead of IC7?
