Trying to overclock my E8400 to 4.0Ghz and managed just fine.

However I got the itch and tried to push it further and just f'ed up my OC and forgot the write down my previous settings so now I'm back to square one.

Anyone here have any settings/profiles to suggest? My specs are in my sig :)
 
Hmmm, achieve those settings again and save them to the bios so you always have them...didnt you start a thread for that and people gave suggestions? That would be a good starting point.

Otherwise, what are are you looking for? Cookie cutter settings?

Nah nvm I was just seeing if anyone had settings they could post paired with an E8400
 
Give these settings a try for 4.0GHz (500MHz x 8), and depending on the VID and stepping adjust the Vcore accordingly...

Thanks those settings worked (For the most part)

Had to do a little bit of tweaking but I blame the RAM for that hehe.
 
Well I got it stable at 4.0Ghz @ 5-5-5-15 2.1v

Problem is I can't crank it a notch past 500Mhz @ 8x

Anything above that crashes when booting up to Windows and I'm a bit worried about running 4.0Ghz @ 1.45v 24/7 - even though I ran Prime95 for 24 hours and it never crept past 58c-59c

Kept trying to tweak the ICH/MCH with no luck, kind of out of ideas now as I don't know what the rest of these settings are even for (Or if theres even any kind of formula to 'em)
