Question Fan swap in PSU question

I have a http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgr800wespsu.aspx and I would like to change the fan to go with the rest of my fans in my case.
The PSU specs say the fan is 138mm and the fam im looking at is 140mm. Its this fan. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-031-_-Product

Ok so im pretty sure it will fit as I found this pic and it shows that its a same 3 pin connector and there is room on either side next to the fan.

So I guess the only thing im worried about is the old fans CFM compared to the new fans as the fan speed is changed on load.

Anything else I should be worried about when I do this? Thanks in advanced!

EDIT: Found info on the stock fan, looks like the CFM is much higher in the stock fan.

Cooling in the ES-800 is supplied by a 138mm Globe fan. Globe has been around for a very long time and makes OEM fans for a number of folks. This particular model (RL4Z B1382012H) is a custom job from Globe designed specifically for this unit. It's a ball bearing slimline (20mm thick), 9 fin, 12V, high speed (1500 RPM) fan that will push 95+ CFM (maybe over 100) at less than 32 db. At full tilt this fan will sip less than 5 watts and BFG tells us that the fan will operate on as little 3V (half the norm), making it inaudible at idle loads. The question is, will it keep this unit cool enough to maintain voltage regulation? That's what our testing is for.

it should work... you might need to splice the old connector onto the new fan.

As far as cfm goes if the stock psu fan is temp controlled. you might try loading the comp and checking the voltage of the fan to see if its getting anywhere close to 12v... Often times a psu fan will stay pretty close to its minimum voltage as more cooling is not needed... putting in a slower fan will actually make use of the thermal control.

Just be careful lots of voltage inside a psu!

Nice thanks for the reply! I have the fan in my cart right now How do I check the voltage?
