Question Asus m50vm t9400 sudden temp rise to 100C on orthos stress.

Hi guys , long story short, I got my asus m50vm which has a penryn T9400, I never quite bothered to check temps on my laptop, till I started to feel it warm and fan keep on blowing.
I opened the bottom plate , and unscrewed the heatsink and found the thermal paste was solidified , so I removed it with a plastic cc. I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol rubbed it well, and placed As5. Then I did something stupid I twisted the heatsink and one of the corners of the cpu die got a little bit scratched and tiny bity bit got broken but you can't even see it, I also scratched a little bit the die. So I don't really know if temp went this high before I even did all this about removing the thermal paste it had , or it started afterwards. So I don't know if a tiny scratch or what happened to the corner could be affecting the temp ? but I don't even know if this happened before.
I need some help from you guys . As I couldn't even solve this problem temp reaching that high with stress test under orthos. Today I bought a copper shim 1mm thick , placed it under the cpu core but temps still under 100 C under orthos stress, and as soon as I press start on orthos temp rises almost instantly to 100c. Could the heatpipe not be working properly, goes to the CPU and then to the mobo northbridge.
Something to take into account , cpu it's 2.53Ghz, and it's throttling but fluctuating in this order 2527 -> 2394 --> 2260 --> 2394 --> 2260 --> 2527. but it keeps on that order. I honestly don't know what else to do.
I also bent the heatpipe a little bit downards cause I thought It wasn't doing contact the copper plate with the core, I don't think I screwed the hteatsink but bending it a little bit. .but.. IT might, also how can I check its workin fine.
Hope you can help me out ! thanks

I hope that you didn't crack a heatpipe with all the bending you did to the hsf on that laptop. And since you bent it, it might not be making good contact with the core of your t9400 too. Another thing, do you see the fan spinning up that blows the air through the heatsink? If the fan isn't blowing air through the heatsink, then you can't get rid of the heat from the processor.

Hi muddocktor , thanks for your reply. Tell you something I stayed all night awake dealing with this, being really tired. Cleaned the cpu die removed as5 with isopropyl alcohol, once again spreaded over with a CC , heatsink on top screwed removed see if the imprint was fine .. million times. ! . What I can say is that I bent the heatpipe but just a little bit. dunno I think I screwed everything

- I did lap the heatsink and I think it seems to me surface it's not that flat..

- I sanded the base where the screws of the heatsink go , so I changed the level,
thinking I might gain a couple mm so that the copper heatsink would make better contact.

- then I built a square with four fingernail limes to sand the 4 bases of the screws at the same time so level them properly.

- I did also add some thermal paste on top of the heatsink where the heatpipe goes through on the sides of the heatpipe.

- As I said before the cpu die on one of the corners got alittle bit chipped , and after so many times putting the heatsink ontop removingit .. and over and over. I can see it's scratched not heavily but I see it's scratched.

- I think I don't have any other alternatives, I touch the heatpipe while on orthos stress and it burns my finger so heat is going through. I don'tknow what else to do. Air is blowing I can feel hot air comingout from the vent.

- Honestly I don't know what else to do , I suspect it could be the heatpipe, but I touch it ant it burns my finger while doing the stress test.

- While on orthos I used rightmark cpu clock , and cpu sensor from rightmark says core1 at 96 while coretemp throws 102C . I'm honestly going crazy with this.

At the end of the heatpipe, they should have a radiator looking part with a bunch of fins on it; it is clear and is the fan blowing through that part of the heatsink? It sounds like the heatpipe is still ok, but you aren't getting rid of the heat in the cooling assembly. There should be a fan blowing though the radiator-looking end of the heatsink assembly. And make sure that the ventilation ports on the case aren't plugged up with lint too.

I have an Asus laptop myself, but I haven't had to open it up to clean out dust bunnies yet. So I'm not sure how the cooling system is set up in mine and I'm just going off of past experience with other laptop cooling setups.

Hi muddocktor, well I know where's the radiator and it's perfectly clean inside, the fan is blowing through that part I mean withing the radiator, what I don't understand is the following .. the heatpipe it's HOT burning hot.. so heat is being tranferred properly I don't understand why it's not being cooled.. I mean I can feel the hot air coming out.. and there aren't any dust bunnies I cleaned all blowing with compressed isopropyl alcohol between all the fins.
