Green 1.5TB = $110/1500GB = 7.3 cents per GB.
Hitachi 2TB = $150/2000GB = 7.5 cents per GB.

If you've only got $70 to spend, though, it is under the 10 cents per GB line.

I wonder what platters these use as 800gb is a strange number regardless of platter density. Most likely these are failed 500gb platters that are partially locked. Might be fast with avg read/write, for a green drive, if the part locked is the inner most parts of the platters.
 
Yeah, that size is awfully strange. I thought Hitachi was using 5x400GB platters in their 2TB drive, but I haven't heard of anyone else using 400GB platters.
 
no clue what platters they are using but like others have said... not the best deal id rather have a 7200rpm 1tb for just a lil more.
