Hey guys, you helped me before so it only makes sense to hit you up now that i need help again

I just bought a new 55" LED TV and while I was setting it up I noticed it has a RGB connection for hooking up a PC. That's cool and all but my video card only has DVI so here's my question.....

I have an MSI HD4830OC video card and a Prodigy HD2 sound card in my PC. What would be the best way to connect my PC to my TV? I'm thinking a DVI to HDMI cord, could I do that? Also, I'd like to be able to have my Audio run through my HT speakers when I use the TV as my monitor, is that possible w/o having to keep plugging and unplugging wires into my sound card? At the moment I have RCA to mini phono jack cord running from my sound card to a JVC receiver, which powers a pair of Insignia bookshelf speakers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you use the special DVI to HDMI connector that came with your 4830.
A normal one will not pass the sound, but the special ATI one that came with your card will.

If you are having problem getting sound you may also need to goto realteks website and download the ATI driver from them. As i have had issues in the past with the default ATI sound driver over HDMI.

Also make sure you have the ATI card as your outputing audio device. As that Prodigy 2 you have will not be used at all if you want sound to pass over HDMI.

Then you can run the output (Sound) cable from your TV to your reliever. Myself i use an optical cable.

Thank help?

It should have come with a DVI to HDMI adapter.
Its a special one and they normally say ATI on it, at least the one from my 4870 does.

You dont want to be using VGA, as VGA and high rez do not go along well.

If you cant find the adapter or it didnt come with one you need to pick up this

Nope, mine didn't come with that adapter, just to one to accept a D-sub connector like was on my old Samsung monitor. I'll definitely pick up one of those adapters, seems like it'll make life so much easier doing it that way. Thanks for the help!
