Do you have any data with the same settings and ambient for other coolers?

I ask because if you don't, the best performing statement has no backing.

Mr i5,

Nice mini review on this cooler, which I haven't seen yet. But do not leech pictures from other websites like you did with the pic of the heatsink from Frostytech. You are leeching their bandwidth and some sites get very upset about this and have a script to insert something else into the leeched picture, which can be quite vulgar at times. And we expressly forbid bandwidth leeching in our rules.

Please use someone like photobucket or imageshack to host pictures or attach them to the post. And if you grab an image from another site, be sure to attribute it to them, with a link preferably.

And how cheap was this heatsink? The Frostytech article says it's $60; for that price, I'd much rather go with the top-end TRUE 120 or Prolimatech Megahalems.

Here in our country, Deepcool Ice Blade Pro costs 1700 Pesos. Other high-end coolers like Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme cost more than 3000 Pesos

But of course, if you have the budget, go for a Prolimatech Megahalem

Of course in your country it's difficult to get high end cooling if you cannot afford it, however here in America for the price of that cooler you posted which is based @ $60 USD, we can purchase a much better tried and TRUE cooler for the same price.

Another thing to note is your mini review has no comparisons onto which you based your findings.

Yeah, I got my Venomous X for 60 dollars.

On my i5 750 I got the same temps using my Xigmatek. On the other hand, running an i7 860 completely changes the game.

At 4.0 using Xiggy, I was pushing 99 degrees with HT on.

Venomous X with Xiggy fan, 90 degrees.

Venomous X with two Noctuas Push/Pull 87.

Venomous X with Two San Aces Push/Pull 81 degrees.

I hereby declare the Fans as being a major role in the effectiveness of the Heatsink. San Aces are loud, but I have a Rheobus on the way. Cost me $18 shipped. And with that purchasing is done, now time for wire management.

1 USD = 46 Philippine Pesos

Deepcool Ice Blade Pro should cost around 35 USD

The price posted by Frosty Tech is just their estimated price

I'll update my post this weekend and post a comparison with Prolimatech Megahalem

After doing a Google, Bing and Yahoo Shopping Search on the Ice Blade Pro, it yielded 0 results. So we can't even make a comparison price wise. I did look at the Frosty tech review and I can say that it doesn't look like a bad Cooler, but I can't say it looks any more ingenious than most new generation Heatsinks. I think you are grossly underestimating the price at 35 dollars because even the Xigmatek S1283 Sells for $39.66 over at the Egg and it is at least a generation older.

Do you have this HSF? Have you made personal comparisons with other HSF? It is my experience that you can only make such a statement if you have owned one. While Frostytech appears to do a good job comparing stuff, I have learned that with Coolers it all comes down to your system configuration, the build quality of said cooler, the fans used and what speed you run them and whether or not you mod the HSF. There are just too many parameters to make such a blanket statement. Sales shows us that Thermalright has managed to produce a cost effective Heatsink.
