Again... 480GTX delayed to April 6th

According to this site the 480 has been delayed again.

http://translate.google.fr/translate...n&hl=&ie=UTF-8

Also rumors the 480GTX has 480 shaders and not 512 shaders like it was intended.

agreed.. they're disappointing tons of folks that are waiting on this.. i mean i know CUDA and PHYSx is nice, but seriously.. this is pathetic....this should push all the @home apps to work with OpenGL as well as CUDA now!

if they keep this up, ATI will be able to keep the pressure on them for a long time.. even though ATI seems to have to change up driver sets alot on their initial releases.. but its worth the cost imo

Color me unshocked.
They said at the first that the official launch would be in "q4 2010", nvidias q4 is a month later then real q4, it ends at the end of april.

i just want fermi to launch so i can see what ATI puts out and what price drops come..
might go with another 5850 or grab a reduced price 5970 maybe...

to me already gtx 480 is a huge hot POS, 512 to 480 shaders rofl, 3rd respin still failing, EPIC failure

gtx 470 if its 350 MAX will be a decent card without the thermal issues and garbage consumption and maybe even possibly some OC head room !

I love new cards but I think i'll stay away untill they further revise this tank called fermi.

I was wondering why we haven't seen any more leaked benches yet...

This is indeed sad news. I'm waiting for this in a 28nm flavor anyway, but I may end up getting a 5850/5870 (or whatever else ATI comes out with) before then. For now my GTX280 still does everything I need it to. Only thing else I really want an upgrade for is DX11.

The 480 shader count is rumor, i wouldn't put too much stock in it.
The 470 has been sortof confirmed to have fewer shaders.

I'd say that coloring it late is a bit overdue, it didn't exactly come out in september :P

The NDA seems to remain unchanged, so next week we could see some benches.

+1 Same here.

I think paper launching now and hard launching midsummer to compete against ATi refresh would be a smart move.

No way, the ATI crowd is already foaming at the mouth over the delays. Nvidia doesn't wanna get sued for causing a few thousand strokes at once
