Doing a Rosetta presentation for class

I'm doing a 5-7 minute presentation for my COM class on Wednesday. It's supposed to be a persuasive speech trying to get the audience, or people in general to join your group. So I figured the majority of college students have a computer, and probably have "spare" CPU cycles. Does anyone know where I can find a history of the Rosetta at home application? I checked their website, but couldn't find anything Or how long the whole Rosetta@home project has been going, in addition to how much longer they expect it to take? Gotta get a lot of these type of details in the presentation

Rosetta as far as i know has a huge collection of projects that need to be run. it is for the most part a image of FAH, as far as i see it. i doubt they will run out of projects to hand out any time soon. it does help find cures for things like cancer of course. it does in some ways seem they are looking to see how different proteins interact when folded with others or mis-folded. Leading to the future of cures which would be custom tailored to your DNA/RNA/Etc. and be far more effective then current ones.

as far as the history of it, i really never looked. why not post up on the Rosie forums and see if one of the founding members of rosie chimes in. GL!

Check under "Development history and branches" HERE. Rosetta Started at Baker laboratory in 1998. The D.C project Rosetta@home started 7 years later in 2005.

As far as helping to convince people to join your group, you can use part of my front page article HERE if you'd like.
I paraphrased and rephrased that article from many different sources, so you won't find it worded like that anywhere else.
