Overclocking My 7600gt

So I picked this card up for cheep , and don't really care if it dies but would like to get some points from it before I do =)

I never used it on air as soon as I got home I slapped some ram sinks on and put the block on . Stock clocks are 590/800 I could only get to 620ish/820 with stock volts . I tried using a pencil but it really didn't gain me much

So out came a box of old parts and I found some 20k VR's (close enough to the 10k's In the Guide for my liking ) . Both the Vgpu mod and the Vmem Worked

But I am only hitting 785/870 and that is with 1.95v on the GPU and 1.92v on the Mem . I really need to get up into the 820-850 range on the core . How high is to high on the voltage ?

Ok maybe asked another way . If you had a Chip with a stock voltage of 1.35 how high do you think you can push it before the Black magic smoke comes out . ( I have seen the magical smoke 4 times before )

What are you using to measure voltage? Can't imagine it's running at almost 2v vcore on water if stock is 1.35v.

I have 2 Big rads .

I used a DMM from the cards read points .

Im not that scared of voltage check the CPUz to see the vcore I was running

@ 2.07 it started to act a lilttle wonky . @ 2.11 I couldn't get into windows ( windows install went south and haven't tested the card again yet . ( if it is dead will prob get one more there are a few local for sale really cheep ) . I do have faith that the card is good . When it first happened I assumed the card was dead . I put in my 4830 and got the same problem ( Could get into bios but just black when windows was trying to load .)
I then tryed my win7 array and booted windows fine ( thats why i feel the card will be ok )

Without better cooling there is only so much voltage will do, that's what I'd look at doing next.

Maybe I will take the system out of the case and break out my bucket of ice .
But even @ 1.92 I was only hitting 45deg @ load

I'd bust out the bucket, some antifreeze or methanol, and lots of ice.
Alternatively, you could always pack dry ice into the radiator

You may just be at the end of the cards abilities though.
