A waste of 5$? It's one of the great PC gaming classics. I am not sure how you can even say that!

:chair:

The original is easily worth the $5....awesome game!

Yeah, thought the second one was good enough to justify the $2.50 to add it to my steam account (I know a few people didn't like it though), plus I heard good things about the first one so I jumped on it.

Nice!

Benefit of the doubt: I'm sure Niku means it's a waste when you already own the games ;). To be fair, first person RPG's are not for everyone, but deus-ex is one of those classics that really made the genre - very much worth checking out at this value if you haven't before!

Actually, I'm finding enjoying the classics is getting so much better of late. Games of 5-10 years ago today have so many overhaul graphics/gameplay mods it can really be like playing a new game!

Here's a step-by-step guide to make Deus Ex look it's best:

Here's a tantalizing list of mods - looks like a lot of complete overhaul mods are around:

EDIT: oh geez, I nearly forgot about this... this may be a good sign that Deus Ex 3 is really on the horizon!

Dude or dudette, most righteous!

Another thing I want to make a point of: While older games have better storylines and often times more gameplay per dollar, I have never been so frustrated with a game as I was with kotor. I probably lost a total of 10 hours of my life to save game issues.

I tried Deus Ex on Gametap and just didn't see what all the fuss was about. For $2.50, I'll give it another shot.

I was never a big fan of FPS. I thought they were all the same shoot kill almost no story, Deus Ex rewrote what a FPS could be for me (well so did the Thief games). the mix of RPG elements with the upgrades and the depth of the story. It's on of those games I play ever other year.

I still have an unopened box in storage. I am getting this on stream as a back up.

Oh and i didn't like the second, didn't hate it. it just leaked a lot of what the first game had.
