Is there any software that I can use that will redirect any documents on my local drive to Google Docs viewer?

I know you can redirect documents on websites to Google Docs viewer with the Ultimate Google Docs Viewer extension on Google Chrome, but there are some sites where it will only allow you to download documents (xls, ppt, doc, etc) to your desktop.

I use Google Docs almost exclusively and I don't want a big office suite like OpenOffice of my machine.

You can try Gladinet Cloud Desktop (http://gladinet.com). It maps a drive to Google Docs. So you can drag and drop your documents into the drive.

after the transfer is completed, you can login to google docs and view the document
