I dont partake in these social engineering websites, but to those that do, take some precautions.

I hate this stuff, Facebook and Myspace. I have no use for it. I don't want people or family from my past to look me up or check in on my activities. I reserved a Facebook account for my RC Racing activities but am undecided if I'm going to actually use it or not. I'll decide when the season starts up in a few weeks.

Probably safe that way right? I totally agree about long lost friends etc. There is a reason you have not contacted your best friend in Middle school right? hahah!

I see what you guys are saying, but you'd be surprised who you reconnect with. An acquaintance of mine from middle and high school found me on Facebook. We wound up becoming very good friends, and even started a small business venture together.

I.M.O.G.: I'm sorry to inform you that your sig violates forum rules. Due to obscene, and frankly ugly, choices of colors you must change this. I suggest brown and orange perhaps.
lol JK... Congratulations on your season. Greetings from Cleveland, the home of "There's always next year".

I didn't read the link you posted but I'm vary weary of posting a lot of info on facebook. I have a facebook account but I use it entirely to message friends living in different countries. I could probably get away with just email but my friends like using facebook so I use it.

totally understand what you guys are saying. What bothers me is that these sites are a real haven for data miners. Look at some of the surveys that are on myspace. Where were you born? What is your moms maiden name? What was your first pet? Ok, alot of these questions are also on your bank accounts and credit cards. Coincidence? Ya, im not buying it.

So now, i find this article that suggests that 1 out of 300 facebook accounts have been compromised and could be up for grabs by a single hacker. If i had an account, i might be a little worried.

As advised by my attorney. Facebook is good for a lot of things but keep the personal information you post to a minimum, it can be used against you. Don't be afraid to tell others your life is off limits as well. I protest when I see my picture on the web. Because although we do have freedom of the press we also have a right to privacy. I have even had heated conversations with my wife about this. I really dont care if she posts a family PIC with me in it but that is it. I also told her what I do is my business and though it is her business by default it is not the business of anyone else.

Data mining is totally what FB is all about. The only reason I have an account is because the folding team has a 'wall' there.

I just thought of a horrible future where you will be assigned a FB page, and you will have to petition the gov via youtube on problems you may be having at the DMV! Like a grim , the movie "The Island" scenario.

They can take my life, but they will never have my freedom or bacon!!!!!!!

I feel they like to start on the young with implementing these plans e.g. mobile phones far more capable than erm phoning.

its become the norm but the past decade all little johhny/jenny wants a £300 phone.

theres two ways to implement facebook
no1 they say its for work opertuninty even benefit entitlement
no2 as law to provide a vote system so we all have to play the puppet master game.... two puppets one pair of hands

votings dieing on its arse in the UK because we dont believe anymore
