I haven't stress tested this yet but after running at 4.1GHz for a few hours with only SETI@home to keep CPU at 100%. The temp reading has remained at 38C for a while now (ambient air is 65F, windows open and window fan running)

I had to flash BIOS again to fix turbo setting. I flashed 2 days ago, MSI released new 1.6 yesterday so I had to download and flash it. Then I had to reset the CMOS setting to get back to 4.1GHz with CnQ and Turbo turned off.

Previous released version (1.2) did not offer turbo option, and CnQ was flaky. Sometimes it'd throttle 3 or 4 cores to 205*4 even when they are running at 100% *and* CnQ is disabled in BIOS. :screwy: I really should start charging them to beta test anything if they aren't going to test everything themselves.

well, user Beepbeep2 from XSF got this

He told me it was with Stock Cooling, Stock Voltage and Ambient Temp of 21C.

If you're running 38°C at SETI load then you're looking good! :) I'm glad they're finally straightening out the throttling issues.

Did you check your WUs to make sure you weren't erroring out? I use SETI all the time for stress testing but I do check the WUs every day on a new rig to make sure things are OK (twice a day for the first couple of days).

Ya', 36°C at idle! I don't want to know what he's getting at load.
