Typing help -

I can type pretty fast, and have been typing from pretty long ( heave computer user since the age of 11, now i am 17

no at school, we have those generic dell keyboards, i can type without looking there.

but when i come home on my Logitech G11, i can type with out looking, but i sort or misalign ever letter,
so for example if i want to type DOG, fast without looking, i might press every key to the left of D - O - G ... so instead of dog i would write S I F (lol)
is this something that will fix over time? or is it just the way i type? ... what i found weird is that i can type much better on the cheapo dell keyboards :s

It depends on where the bumps on the keys are
basic dell keyboards have the little blip on the F and J keys (like my work one)
I would have to look at it when i get home(at work now) but my logitech one i believe has the blips on the D and K keys...which is probably how you get mis-aligned. You are used to the blip on your index finger instead middle.

G11 has soft keys and dell keys are the hard clanky ones, your muscle memory is probably better with the dell keyboard because of this.

he is talking about his fingers being off on the key board. Not missing letters in the word. The keyboard depression depth would make more sense if...hs problm ws lik ths...typing so fast that he doesn't realise he isnt pressing keys. Per the OPs example DOG as SIF, his hand is transposed one set of keys outboard on either hand. I am willing to put money that the G11 has blips on D and K keys, for the middle fingers, instead of F and J like the dell. So by instinct OP puts the blips on his index fingers and starts typing.

Why are they on different keys? Only guess I have is that Dell keyboard is for basic typing while G11 geared more towards gaming. Most people use their middle finger to move forward be it on the arrow keys or WSAD. Making the middle finger the center line of their usual typing motions.

Antipesto, let me know where your blips are on your G11...the pics I see on the net are not detailed enough for me to see.

hey, on the g11 the bump is on the j, but i just cant really feel it, i didnt even know there were bumps!

well i removed the little palm rest that cam with the keyboard and typing is much easier, its think its because i can sort of feel the front of the keyboard, so my palms line up better, not my fingers, weird but it worked pretty well!
