I can get my hands on a 850 celly pretty cheap, the question is , I'm not sure if the old Soyo will boot after It's installed.
It's just the basic 6ba+, pcb ver. d, I'm planning on using a super slocket 3 adapter card I have kickin around.
Should I try it or save my money.
Thanks

hmmmm, i have a 6ba+III in my wife's machine and its multipliers hit 8X100 - no higher..............overclocks nice to 133 fsb, though.....

It should work fine, although it may only run at 800. I have read in other threads where they say that it will "auto detect the multiplier" and run the cpu at whatever it is supposed to. I cant say for sure wreather or not this is true. The worst that can happen though is that it will only run as an 800. Oh well, even so, it should OC to 133 pretty easy at that.
