Project Paragon UPDATE 8/8 BETTER NEWS
Hello everyone I am a new member to these forums and I am looking forward to learning all sorts of O.Cing secrets Computers are my passion and I have built every single one that I have owned. "Project Paragon" is my very 1st attempt at modding a case. I do believe it is a one of a kind mod making it a unique and original Cosmos S. Hope you like it!
Video of system:
What the inside looked like before I started and disassembly(all parts you see here have been sold except for the HX1000).........
A few inside pics and some "cuts" I made for the mod........
I used some parts from this Danger Den case, you will see later.....
Starting to line the inside of the case and mount some stuff.......
MMMMMMM...POWER! HX1000 + TX750 mounted under desk.....
My stuff came today so its a happy day!!! And they were even kind enough to send me sister 5970's(S/N's are sequential) loving that! I pretty much have everything now for the build....I was stalled until my cards came because I needed exact measurements for cables etc. Here are PICS and a list of my hardware::::::Crosshair IV, AMD X6 1090T, 8GB Corsair Dominator GT, Muskin 128 GB SSD, W.D V.R 300GB, W.D V.R 150GB, W.D 1TB Black, EVGA 9800GT S.C(Physx), (2) XFX 5970 B.E, Corsair HX1000, Corsair TX750, Logitech Illuminated K.B, M.S Sidewinder Mouse...............
This whole project started when I saw the Silverstone Raven 2 case and really liked the M.B tray being turned 90 degrees....just made sense to suck cool air from the bottom and exhaust warm out the top. I was just going to buy that case but I could not sell my Cosmos S.........and so the wheels started to turn. I originally was going to cut the M.B tray(i/o panel and all) completely out and turn it 90 degrees, then I saw the Danger Den case and loved the acrylic pieces and that I would not have to cut the whole M.B tray out of the Cosmos S. Don't know if anyone has tried this yet with any other projects(if you know of any please let me know), but I think its turning out pretty well. I did have to make some "adjustments" to my final design............
Test mount and recheck everything before I mount the motherboard and tray....
Motherboard mounted to tray......
Tray and MOBO mounted in case..........
Installed my Corsair H50. Cut the hole in the front of the case and Im using the push/pull fan setup. I had to cut a little plastic of the front bezel, but not much at all. After I cut the bezel the radiator and fans slipped right in there like it was designed for it. The sleeved wire you see along side the fan is the bottom fan wire I will be using for the CPU fan. Also three fans mounted on bottom grill.......
I have reassembled the tower and mounted my custom back panel. Since my mod makes the back I/O plate of the stock tower useless, I cut it out along with everything else back there. I had to make a few "adjustments" from my original plan because I was having an issue of wire placement and routing. I finally came up with this setup and I think its gonna work out great. I had these Data Pro plates made and offset them from the tower so the wires and connectors would fit by the motherboard tray...........
5970's waiting to be installed.............
My custom HDD/SSD mount and some close-ups.........
And here is the finished product. I am very happy the way it turned out. I think maybe it is the only 90 degree Cosmos S...........Glad to be a member of the forums......
