this is my first time trying to overclock.
i have a pentium 2 300 and a gigabyte tech mobo.
the pentium 2 is locked at the 4.5 multiplier so i can only change the fsb speed. my mobo only offers 66, 75 and 83 from the jumpers, i first tried 75 and windows would not start so i removed my old 32MB ram cards and left my 128MB PC100 card in. That worked, but when i tried the 83 clock speed the computer started but it said it was only at 60.4 fsb speed.
If anyone knows any tips or any help in general i would greatly appreciate it.
whats better: 192MB ram with cpu at 300MHZ or 128 MB ram with cpu at 338 MHZ?

thanks

Where are you getting 60.4 FSB speed from?

128 RAM with CPU at 338 is faster

You would better stick to 75mhz fsb....thats the best o\c for your
system.
83mhz fsb is far out of specs for your pci.
