How can I overclock my CPU?

I currently am only able to go as high as 2.45GHz before my pc reboots itself. Here are my Specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
Processor: Intel Quad Core Q6600 2.40GHz
Memory: Corsair Dominator 4gigs
Power Supply: Antec 650 Watt

I'd like to get above 2.8GHz if possible otherwise I will just settle for what I can get... Please give me some feedback... Thanks!!

Have you tried increasing the vcore some?

At such a modest OC on respectable hardware my guess is your RAM is not setup properly.

Check your RAM specs and make sure you enter the RAM settings manually; speed, timings and voltage. You'll want to reduce the RAM speed below spec so that when you OC the FSB you don't raise the RAM speed too high. Later on you can work on getting the RAM running at or above spec if you want.

Post up your settings and it might help more.

Found my old settings for 3.6ghz, same mobo, same CPU...

Try them at 333 fsb (3.0ghz) first...creep up from there...no two CPUs are the same.

Any luck man?
