Hi, everybody.

I wanted to overclock my i7 and I bought a Cooler master 212+ (HSF) with push/pull to bring good temps. However, whenever I run Prime95 at the 930 stock speed of 2.8ghz, the cpu according to Speedfan gets up to 67 - 69 degrees Celcius. I was wondering why the temps could be so high and if I could get some help.

Other info:
idle temp around 35-41 degrees Celcius (Speedfan)
room temp is around 32.3 degrees celcius

Thanks!

Is your Vcore set to auto? As I would suppose this is the case since you claim you are running stock settings try lowing the Vcore to ~1.75V and test for stability. You can continue to lower the Vcore (until you are no longer stable) to further lower temps if you wish. FYI the default Vcore is 1.2V

32°C room temperature?
For that ambient temperature your temps look fine.
But please use RealTemp or CoreTemp for Intel CPU's.
Draizien is right, play a little with Vcore.
