I face a very sticky situation. I removed the waterblock that came with my 4870x2 that I ordered off of ebay. All is going to plan as I put the stock cooler back on the bare 4870x2 board. The screws screw in fine, but then it comes to the X-Clamps. They aren't screwing in. They screwed in a little bit but then required me to use a plyer for the rest. This caused the screw to break within the socket and now I have an unusable hole for my X-Clamp.
This is when I realized that the screws and X-Clamps weren't the original ones that came with the cooler, but instead the ones that came with the waterblock.
Now I am debating what I should do. Ideally, I would just buy replacement screws for the 4870x2, but I don't know where to get them. Would it still be alright to use the X-Clamp with one screw missing?
I decided to test the screws from my 4870 and they screwed in perfectly to the 4870x2 original heatsink. (The screws look exactly like the ones in this picture: http://www.pcshoptalk.com/staff/stefan_m/arcxtreme/33.jpg).

Would anyone know where to buy an original stock cooler for the 4870x2? That would also solve my problems. Any help out be greatly appreciated, as this whole situation really really really sucks :rain::rain::rain::cry::-/:confused::chair::(.

No clue where to get screws, but it's usually a good idea to NOT use pliers on computers :chair:

Yeah, I always use that as a rule of thumb, but it was more of using the plyers on the small screwdriver I was using to screw it in. It was just one of those moments :(
