I'm trying to hit the 4.0Ghz mark but stuck at 3.9Ghz right now. If i set the cpu to 4.0 with 1.40 volts I can boot but when I run OCCT I error out like 20 minutes into it. Load temps hit up to 54C. I figured if i just up the voltage a little I might be able to pass the stability tests but not sure what is considered safe voltage range for the CPU. Most threads I've seen about overclocking this CPU have it up to as high as 1.50-1.60 but that is 955BE with C2 stepping. I have the C3 stepping chip and not sure if they have the same voltage ranges.

Thanks

Even AMD says the safe range is 0.825-1.425v. Personally I'd consider 1.45 (maybe 1.475v with good temps) to be the top unless you're under water, then I'd go 1.50-1.525v depending on temps. As it is it's probably your temps holding you back so raising the vCore may make things worse but, hey, it's worth a try ... :)

Are any of the voltage here too high?I know nuts about voltage and normally leave them on auto.I am running a 955 c3@3800mhz 19x200/2600mhz nb/ht link/ddr3 1600mhz.Please advice how I should set the voltage for stability.
CPU:1.45V
CPU/NB:1.40V
CPU/VDDA:2.49V
DRAM:1.65V
HT:1.20V
NB:1.11V
NB 1.8V:1.81V
SB:1.20V
3.3V:3.45V
5V:4.97V
12V:12.45V
Thanks in advance:attn:

Voltages are fine. Next time it's advisable you create a new thread and not piggy back on someone else's

CPUNB is too high IMO. I would bring it back down to 1.225.

Thanks for the tip:salute:Awesome lowered the cpu/nb volt to 1.225v & got a 4c drop in cpu temp & 3c drop in nb

Dude I just did. Finally got a stable 4.0Ghz. 4018Mhz with a NB frequency of 2612Mhz to be exact. It was the heat wall that was holding me back. I finally received a set of fan clips for my Venomous X, through thermalright, which allowed me to set up a push/pull system and was able to drop my load temps down 4-5C. (That and figured out in the bios how to turn off the Auto Smart Fan Control and run all the system fans at 100%) :attn:

Didn't have to up my voltage at all, just had to lower the temp a bit.
Vcore:1.40
CPU NB: 1.200

I just finished a hour OCCT Linpack test without any errors while before running that test would cause a crash within 5-10 minutes. Going to start a 8hour prime95 blend test tonight just to be safe but if it passed the Linpack i'm pretty sure its going to pass the blend.
