I am in the process of getting all of my parts for my new computer I am building. I have purchased some of these and I am currently buying everything else except motherboard, cpu, memory, and graphics card. Once I have everything I will purchase these items all at once. I just need help choosing a GPU. I would like some help from people with experience, I want somehting that can clock good and be able to run 3 24 inch displays while gamming.

Thanks in advance

Also I will be adding a water cooling system for the CPU and GPU atleast.
Either danger den, swiftech or koolance. Possibly even a combination of all three and some customizing. Just haven't done enough research yet.

I would either get a 2GB 5870 or a 5970. A single 1GB 5870 might struggle a little with such a high resolution on demanding games. You would probably have to turn some settings down. IMO 5970 would be ideal.

thanks.. So your basically saying might as well spend another 100 bucks or so and get a 59701GB or 2GB. What are you running your 5870 at?

Yea I'd just get a 5970 2GB (standard version) and not worry about having to tweak anything for higher frames. My 5870 is pushing a single 1920x1080 monitor with a mild OC. I can max all the games I play (except Metro2033, turned a few things off) with playable frames. In fact, everything except Metro2033 is usually over 60fps. (haven't played Crysis)

why shoudn't I overclock my stuff? After all that is why I am liquid cooling my system. Also the resolution for my screens would be 5760x1080.. I correct myself from earlier.

I don't think I told you not to overclock. By not tweaking I mean not having to mess with config files and stuff to get enough frames to be playable. I would OC the hell out of whatever you get, but if you want to OC heavily I would get 2x5870s vs 1 5970 as that would be faster, easier to cool, and overall better. That is if you can afford it because 2x5870 = $800.

You could possibly look at saving a bit of cash and get 2 5850s and overclock the bejesus out of them - you can pretty much get them up to 5870 speeds with a decent overclock.
