Hey everyone, I could use some advice. I have never attempted to OC before, but I hear that the processor I have could easily be doing more, so I thought I might try it out. My relevant equipment is:
-ABIT IP35 Pro Mainboard
-E8400 3Ghz Processor
-Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...true&Keywords=overclock&Page=1#scrollFullInfo)
-MASSCOOL 8WA741 92mm Ball CPU Cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835150082)
At idle my processor sits around 40 degrees. My number one concern is stability. I don't game with this machine often, but I usually leave it on 24x7 and have a lot of stuff open, so I want the best speed I can get with no crashes. Any suggestions on exact settings or timings to try? Thanks for your help.
