HDX18 Only Displays Black :(

Hi,

First off, sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot.

Secondly the problem...

My Hp HDX18 Laptop only display BLACK when hooked up to an external monitor.
It boots up fine, makes all the noises it should, however everything is black.

What's the problem, and how do I fix it?

The few PC Shops I've taken it to (including HP) have either no idea, cant do anything, and just straight up lie about the problem ie: ..."its the CCLF"

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read this plea ..

Well the vga slot may be input and not output does you're monitor on the laptop stay on when you hook it up?

I'd like to say I've tested both possible scenarios.
However all I could see is BLACK...

So I cant say with any certainty that monitor on the laptop stays on or off

I'm sorry I cant give you a more precise answer...


Assuming that the monitor stayed on or off, what might that change now...?
