Hey guys, I was wondering if it's possible to connect my computer to my HDTV via a DVI/HDMI cable. The graphics card I'm getting is the 5870. Anyone ever do this before?

Lots of people do it in HTPC setups, including myself. It should work fine, I am currently using a HD5450 with HDMI so I can use it for movies.

Do I need anything special to do this? Or can I just go right to my TV through my graphics card?

Just right to the TV, if you are using the HDMI out on your card (if available) sound is also passed through, otherwise you will need another cable unless you already have speakers plugged in.
